Successful AEP presentations at Rivers Academy for our Women in War project

As a part of Heritage Lottery Fund First World War project ‘Women in War’, we have been working with local Sixth Formers at Rivers Academy.

They have spent 6 weeks working on 2 briefs that were set by us:

1) Recruitment of Participants – create a marketing campaign that will engage young people with our Women in War project.

2) Event Management – The performance day.

The Sixth Formers worked incredibly hard in creating campaigns that would engage children with the project- understanding what could be used to ‘hook’ people into the project and the different mediums that could be used to do so. Groups created ideas for posters, instagram pages, trailers and so on. The young people had their first experience of events management as they created a schedule for the day of the Women in War performance- thinking about how to maximise impact, costings, wet weather contingency and other important factors.

The AEP allows the young people to experience working for local companies and completing a brief that is set by that company. We are proud of all of the Sixth Formers that took part and are excited to roll out their marketing campaigns as well as continue working with them to make our Women In War project happen.
